What is Home Care?
Home Care is health related services that one receives in their
home. This care could include in-home aide services, medical
equipment and supplies and much more.

Home Care allows a client to maximize their freedom and comfort
in their familiar surroundings. Families can have reassurance
that their loved one is being cared for on a routine that
accommodates each client’s/families schedule. In most cases,
home care means significant savings in the cost of care when
compared to a nursing home or a rest home. Also and most
importantly, a healthy routine is began the day that home care
is introduced into each client’s home, for example: each client
receives a bath daily, meals are prepared, light housekeeping
performed in client’s home daily, laundry is washed and put away
weekly, medications are filled as prescribed by the physician on
a timely basis, and groceries are purchased and safely put away
into the client’s home to assisted in preventing over exertion
and falls, daily communication between the client and aide which
helps to quickly notate any medical changes that may take place
with a client.
How do I arrange for
services?
Simply call the Home Life Care office nearest to you. Our staff
will answer each question you may have and lead you through our
brief admission process. Client referrals are received from many
different sources, such as: the client, a family member, a
neighbor, a church member, the client’s physician, a discharge
planner from a facility, and the department of Social Services.
Who pays for home care
services?
Medicaid, Private Pay, Worker’s Comp and other special funds.
How do I choose the right
agency?
In
selecting a home care provider a client should verify that the
Division of Facility Services has licensed the agency. A license
ensures to the public that the agency has met specific standards
of care mandated by the licensure board.
Does a
client or Family member have the right to choose the home care
provider they desire?
Yes, each individual has the right to choose the
provider they desire according each individuals Bill of Rights.
