Ideally, every person, whether young or old, needs to get a physical check-up annually. By visiting the doctor for regular check-ups, we could monitor our health and in case we get sick, the doctors will have a reference of our medical history. But most of us fail to follow this.

Which physical exams should we, senior citizens, get regularly to maintain a healthy well-being?

  • Blood Pressure.
    High blood pressure is prevalent among Americans and senior citizens who have this condition are at a higher danger. Thus, we should check our blood pressure annually if ours is on a normal range, and as often as advised by the doctor if we are already at risk of high blood pressure.

  • Periodental Exam.
    A gum disease could indicate that a part of our body is suffering from a malady. Also, some medications like antihistamines, diuretics, and antidepressants have a negative effect on our dental health. For these reasons, we should go see the dentist twice a year.

  • Blood Work.
    Taking various types of blood tests would be necessary, and the number of tests would depend on the present health condition as well as the medical history of a person.   • Vaccinations.
